Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy has had about a month to bask in the glow of new fatherhood with baby mama Kate Hudson and now, it's time to return to work! Bellamy will return to the studio next month to commence work on Muse's sixth album.

Muse played only four gigs during the festival-heavy summer so that Bellamy could spend time with Hudson and their son, Bing, who entered the world on July 9th.

Bellamy will be working on Muse's first album since 2009's The Resistance, which was their breakthrough in a rather long and fruitful career.

Bassist Chris Wolstenholme told BBC Radio 1 that the band will spend two months writing in the studio. He said, "September and October, that's when we're going to get into the studio to start writing the new album."

While the band did trim their tour schedule and kept live commitments to a minimum in the wake of Bing's birth, the band will resume a busy road schedule when they promote the new album. Wolstenholme said, "We're always going to be the kind of band that want to get out and play live. As the years go on there's that temptation to cut the touring down less and less but we still love playing live. I can't ever imagine we'll be the kind of band that cut the touring down significantly."
