The developers at IO Interactive who are working on Hitman: Absolution have said that the new technology powering the video game will allow them to offer players more options than previous titles in the same series and make it easier to explore the game world.Speaking to Gamespot, Chistian Elverdam, who is the gameplay director working on Hitman: Absolution, has said, "We have improved all the stuff that Hitman can do. We were a little bit sad about the fidgety moves you could do in the old game. I think a lot of people knew sometimes it just failed. So we really wanted to make all that stuff super tight."

The developers also highlighted the new Instinct system that Absolution will use, saying that it allows players to explore a lot of approaches to a situation without being forced into a fail state, like the previous titles in the series used to do.

He also spoke about the fans of the series and how close the team working on the game is listening to their input, saying, "Now that we are here at this stage we can really sense it. We get a lot of positive feedback that we hear back with this game, and we are super happy to be here with an engine that allowed us to build exactly what we wanted this time."

This does not mean the developers will allow fans to actually push their own vision of what Absolution will be.

The developers at IO Interactive have said that Absolution will be familiar to old players of the Hitman series but will also offer a number of modifications to the formula.

The new Hitman video game is being prepared for a 2012 launch and it will be offered on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PC.
