Rumor has it that the latest CD from Rufus Wainwright is his most "user-friendly" to date. Wainwright even told Rolling Stone he figures he is posed to have a chart-topping hit. Damn Straight, Rufie!

Teaming up with wonder-boy producer Mark Ronson (of Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen fame) could just be the ticket to push Wainwright into a more commercially viable position with this new record Out of The Game.

With Wainwright's last record, All Days Are Nights, the tone was understandably somber following the death of his mother Kate McGarrigle. Up until now, with previous records and projects, you got the feeling Rufus made records for himself and his diehard fans without obsessing over the ginormous commercial-selling brass ring. But why shouldn't he have some mainstream success? Good Lord of the Rings, he certainly has the talent and the drive!

Other collaborators on the new record include his wonderfully talented sister Martha, Sean Lennon, members of Wilco and a Dap-King or two. Wainwright has described the new record as "very sexy." Sounds good to me! I'll take two.

Out of the Game is due out in May of 2012.
