Polaris Industries Expands in Osceola on day true story
OSCEOLA, Wis. (AP) -- Polaris Industries Inc. plans to add 89 jobs in the western Wisconsin city of Osceola as it boosts production of Indian motorcycles.
& & &Minnesota-based Polaris acquired Indian last year and produces the motorcycles in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Engines for both Indian and Victory motorcycles are made at the Osceola plant, which employs about 100.
& & & & &The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation says Polaris is eligible for $595,000 in tax credits. Gov. Scott Walker calls it "another great jobs victory for Wisconsin" given that Polaris could have chosen Iowa or Minnesota.
& & &The Osceola plant once had a workforce of more than 500. Polaris had planned to close it in 2010 as part of a plan to move some ATV production to Mexico, but decided to keep some workers on in Osceola for motorcycle engines.

& & &MADISON, April 5, 2012 – Polaris Industries is eligible for $595,000 in economic development tax credits through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, creating up to 89 jobs related to the company's expansion in Osceola.
& & &"This is another great jobs victory for Wisconsin," said Governor Scott Walker. "We are pleased that Polaris Industries selected its plant in Osceola for this business investment when it could have considered its locations in Iowa and Minnesota."
& & &Polaris Industries is planning to renovate and purchase new testing equipment at its facility in Osceola. The expansion is driven by a recent acquisition of Indian Motorcycles, GEM (Electrical neighborhood vehicles) and other new product lines Polaris is going to be entering into.
& & &The company is expected to add highly skilled jobs such as new product developers, testing engineers and purchasing managers.
& & &The tax credits will be distributed annually in direct relation to the number of new, full-time positions created and filled over a three-year period.

Another song and dance by Walker trying to make himself look good! We the tax payer are giving business another BIG tax break. They will bring in their own trained people for the top jobs and the poor wages will go to the locals. Nothing new in this idea. Look at the other so called good jobs he has proposed in this state. Just more of the same!

I know thats the only reason my husband and I bought Polaris because it was one of the few products still made in America, then we won't anymore!!
