Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto: Possible Fights for Money May After Win on day true story

Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s victory over Miguel Cotto once again reminded us what an elite boxer looks like, and now the focus turns to who Money May could fight next.

There are few to no fighters left for Money May to fight that are even on his level. However, there are candidates out there who could give a better challenge than Cotto was able to put up.

Mayweather Jr. has hinted at retirement, but with money still left to be made and his ability to still fight at an elite level, I don't anticipate such a career move.

Here are some fighters Money May could target after he is released from a short stint in prison.

Manny Pacquiao

Duh!

This is a no-brainer, as Pacquiao is one of the top fighters in the world, and in my opinion, has the right type of fighting style to beat Money May.

While it won't be easy, Pac-Man's relentless attack and quick hands could rival those of Mayweather Jr. and make for an interesting fight. If anyone can catch Money May, it would be Pacquiao.

It remains to be seen if this fight could occur, though, as a result of a money dispute. However, it's the most anticipated fight in boxing, and one can only hope that somehow, someway, it gets done.

Miguel Cotto

I really don't see much sense in a rematch between Cotto and Mayweather, yet according to David Mayo of MLive.com, not only does such a rematch have appeal, but Roger Mayweather also agrees with such a statement, to an extent.

"People liked the fight," he said Sunday afternoon in the lobby of MGM Grand as a steady stream of fans stopped him for photos and congratulatory handshakes. "They think the fight was competitive. But it wasn't as competitive as some people thought it was. Rough fight. But as far as the physical punishment, it was put on Cotto. It wasn't put on Floyd, it was put on Cotto."

Mayweather does realize that fans might've been fooled by a seemingly-competitive fight, but that doesn't change the fact that they might've been pleased by what they saw. That could give this rematch some legs in the future if both fighters want to revisit it, as the matchup has the possibility of being lucrative once again.

Personally, I wouldn't watch this fight again, but that doesn't mean millions of others feel the same way.

Sergio Martinez

One of the best fighters in the world at the moment, Sergio Martinez is currently fighting as a middleweight, but according to Kevin Iole of Yahoo! sports, Martinez would be willing to drop to 150 pounds if it meant he could fight Mayweather Jr.

Not to mention, Martinez has championship gold as the middleweight champion and according to the same article, Money May could be willing to meet Martinez at 154 to as much as 160 for a chance at the title.

He's not a big middleweight and has already said he'd be willing to get as low as 150 pounds if it meant landing a Mayweather fight. Given that Mayweather made a point of allowing Cotto to come in at the 154-pound limit, it's likely that Mayweather would agree to meet Martinez at 154 or even at 160 for a middleweight title bout.

It would only increase Mayweather's legacy as the greatest pound-for-pound fighter in the world with another title in another weight class.
