Haryana raises monthly honorarium of PRI representatives on day true story

& Jind, Aug 21 : Having lent financial and decision-making muscles to the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) in Haryana, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced the state government decision to increase the monthly honorarium of PRI representatives in the state.

& He made the announcement while addressing the state-level function of PRI representatives at the HUDA Ground here today.

Chairpersons, vice-chairpersons and members of Zila Parishads, Panchayat Samitis and thousands of sarpanches and panches of Gram Panchayats participated in the function.

Mr Hooda said that while the monthly honorarium of Zila Parishad Chairman had been raised from Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,500, the vice-chairperson would get Rs 6,000 against Rs 4,500. The chairman, vice-chairpersons and members of the Panchayat Samitis would now get Rs 6,000, Rs 2,500 and Rs 1,250 instead of Rs 4,500, Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,000, respectively, he added.

He said that the monthly honorarium of sarpanches and Panches of the gram panchayats had also been increased to Rs 2,000 and Rs 600 from Rs 1,500 and Rs 400, respectively. The cash in hand at the disposal of sarpanches had also been increased to Rs 25,000 from Rs 10,000.

Living up the dream of former Prime Minister late Mr Rajiv Gandhi, the Haryana Government had announced several decisions last month to empower PRIs, making them responsible for taking local decisions and giving them financial powers to execute development works in their respective areas.&
