A couple of new TV castings to write about. First things first, Chuck has been snagging up pretty good names all off-season for its farewell and final season to the fans. Currently, Mark Hamill and Carrie Anne Moss will have big roles this season. Now Smallville's Green Arrow star Justin Hartley is heading to 'Chuck.' Hartley didn't reveal any character details, just that he was filming a guest spot. [Justin Hartley/Twitter]

I really like Hartley and I am glad he is getting some post Smallville work. I hope it shows some networks that he is good for other stuff. My guess is he will play a spy, ex-spy, Sarah's little brother, friend. Who the hell freakin' knows, but it is definitely some nerd bait for the last season of a very loved series. Hartley isn't the first Smallville star to appear on the series. Kristin Kreuk, who spent eight seasons playing Lana Lang, joined the series back in Season 3 for a reocurring role as a new nerd herd employee that liked Chuck.

In other casting news V's Scott Wolf has joined the cast of NCIS for their season 9. Wolf has booked a potentially recurring guest spot on the 'NCIS' Season 9 premiere. Wolf will play FBI Agent Casey Stratton. Expect some surprises. It will be interesting to see his dynamic on the show around Mark Harmon and the other cast members.

In other nerd TV bait news, Linus Roache, who played Thomas Wayne for a hot minute in Batman Begins, will be returning to Law & Order franchise. According to TVLine, Roache will appear in the Season 13 premiere of 'Law & Order: SVU.' The character now oversees the Special Victims Unit as bureau chief of the district attorney's office.

"I am very happy to be bringing Michael Cutter back to life and exploring how he has evolved into his new position of being a bureau chief and possibly even a mentor," Roache said in a statement. "I think Special Victims is going to be an area where Cutter's passion for justice can really come forth."

'Law & Order: SVU' premieres on Wed., Sept. 21 at 10PM.
