Brazil's Socrates discharged from hospital - Soccer on day true story
SAO PAULO (AP) -- Former Brazil captain Socrates has been discharged from the hospital nine days after being treated for a stomach hemorrhage.
The Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo says in a statement that Socrates was discharged on Saturday. The statement contained no further details.
The hospital has said the hemorrhage was caused by high blood pressure in the vein that carries blood from the digestive system to the liver.
The 57-year-old Socrates captained the national squad in the 1982 and 1986 Word Cups.
