St. Louis Rams team report: Bradford not guaranteed to play Saints - NFL on day true story

ST. LOUIS—After missing a game for the first time as a pro Sunday in Dallas, there's no guarantee that quarterback Sam Bradford will return this week against New Orleans.

Bradford is still wearing a boot on his left foot and walking with a slight limp after suffering a high ankle sprain Oct. 16 in Green Bay. Bradford experienced soreness after testing the ankle last Friday before the Dallas game.

According to coach Steve Spagnuolo, Bradford will be "shut down" at least until Wednesday this week. High ankle sprains often can take three to four weeks to heal, so backup A.J. Feeley could get another start or two. After operating out of the no-huddle effectively with Bradford against Green Bay, the Rams scrapped the no-huddle with Feeley against Dallas.

Notes: In his first game following his trade from Denver, new Rams WR Brandon Lloyd got plenty of attention from Feeley against the Cowboys. Lloyd was targeted 12 times, catching six passes for 74 yards, including a long of 34 yards late in the game. But Lloyd couldn't come down with two short passes in the end zone at the end of the game, and it's clear it will take more than just Lloyd to get this offense on track.
