A local animal clinic is asking for help locating a bulldog statue stolen from the top of their company car sometime overnight Sunday.

Dr. Deborah Kelloway, director of the Advanced Veterinary Clinic in Manchester, said she noticed this morning that Marilyn, a plastic statue situated on top of the clinic's car, had been taken. She had been unbolted from her perch and was gone.

Kelloway said it is sad and all they want is to get her back -- with no questions asked.

She said the dog was painted about a year ago by a local artist, and was a way of making people smile when they were dealing with an emotional situation.

Manchester police said they are aware of the crime, but say they have no suspect and it will be very hard to find the dog.

They hope it is unusual enough that if someone displays it, it will be recognized..
