St. Louis Rams: Steven Jackson Is Poised for a Monster Season on day true story

Get ready, Rams fans. The "Ground-and-Pound" is coming to the Gateway City.

Head coach Jeff Fisher is known for his run-heavy offense. As the head coach in Tennessee, the Titans fans even had a name for it—"Fisherball."

Fisher chose Brian Schottenheimer as his offensive coordinator. Schottenheimer was most recently the OC with the New York Jets. In New York, Schottenheimer was in charge of Rex Ryan's ground-and-pound offensive approach to football.

All of this has Steven Jackson grinning ear to ear.

This offense is going to be run heavy. With new offensive line coach Paul Boudreau motivating those big guys up front, I think the O-line is about to take their game to another level. Jackson sees it too.

"All in all, as an offense we're looking good. And especially Coach (Paul T.) Boudreau up front, what he's doing with the offensive line is very impressive as well," Jackson said, via Kathleen Nelson of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

In 2006, Jackson ran for 1,528 yards, his best season as a St. Louis Ram. It's no coincidence that Paul Boudreau was the Rams' offensive line coach that season. After Boudreau left St. Louis and went to Atlanta, Michael Turner ran for a career-best 1,699 yards.

The pieces are coming together. You have a head coach, Fisher, who loves to run the ball. You have an offensive coordinator, Schottenheimer, who has experience with an offense that is run heavy. You have an offensive line coach who is known for getting the best out of his O-line. All which will lead to a monster season for the running back.

The Rams have Brit Miller at fullback, ready to hit guys in the mouth. The Rams drafted Isaiah Pead in the second round (No. 50 overall) and then added another back when they selected Daryl Richardson in the seventh round.

The Rams appear ready to run the ball down somebody's throat.

In today's pass-happy NFL, where teams put up video-game statistics, can you really hope to make the playoffs with this style of play?

It worked pretty good for San Francisco last year, and right now, that is the team the Rams are chasing in the NFC West.
