Mass. Democrats tweak Mitt Romney over turbulent Fox News Channel interview - Political Intelligence - A national political and campaign blog from The Boston Globe on day true story

Who says the Massachusetts Democratic Party doesn't care about Mitt Romney, his campaign for the presidency, or the sustenance of his staff?

Popcorn and a DVD

State Democrats visited the Republican's campaign headquarters last night, dropping off a DVD of the candidate's turbulent interview this week with the Fox News Channel - as well as a greeting card and a tub of popcorn.

During the interview, Romney chafed at questions about purported flip-flops in his political record.

"We thoroughly enjoyed Governor Romney's interview on Fox News with Bret Baier last night," party Chairman John Walsh wrote in the card. "We had such a great time watching all 16 minutes of the interview that we wanted to make sure you had the opportunity to enjoy it too!"

State Democrats weren't alone in seizing on the interview.

Today, rival Jon Huntsman released a web video providing context for some of the interview's toughest moments - along with some coarse language describing his aversion to lengthy interviews.

"After watching Mitt evade, distort, and eventually blame Bret's questions, it's no wonder he is 'Scared Mittless' of the press. When you are on both sides of every issue, it makes it hard to answer tough questions," said Huntsman spokesman Tim Miller in a statement.
