Television reality star Kim Kardashian - her show Keeping Up With The Kardashians is shown on Foxtel - also clearly keeps up with the news in her homeland.
Patricia "Tanning Mom" Krentcil stole the headlines in the US with her leathery bronze look after she first allegedly brought her five-year-old daughter into a tanning bed.
The 31-year-old Kardashian, who is happy to display with new love for rapper Kanye West, went to top Krentcil's over-the-top glow, tweeting a photo of herself looking unrecognisably tanned.
"The tannerexic mom has some serious competition!!! LOL," Kardashian tweeted.
But don't worry, the reality star quickly admitted that the super bronzed photo showed only a temporary tan.
"Relax that's just a spray tan!!! It washed off & I'm back to my normal tan self! But how crazy does it look after being on for 8 hours!" she clarified minutes later.
