Montel Harris, Boston College's all-time leading rusher, dismissed from team - NCAA Football on day true story

Montel Harris, Boston College's all-time leading rusher, has been dismissed from the team for repeated violation of team rules, the school announced Tuesday.

"Montel Harris has been permanently dismissed from our football team due to repeated violation of team rules," coach Frank Spaziani said. "We are grateful for his contributions the past four seasons and will support him in completing his degree requirements and in his future pursuits."

Harris was on the verge of becoming the ACC's all-time leading rusher before he underwent knee surgery in August. He played the first three games of 2011 then sat out until the final two games. Multiple knee injuries made his participation at all this fall a big question mark. He made it through just one spring practice before he aggravated the knee injury.

Harris' Boston College career ends with 3,735 rushing yards.

The Eagles will turn to Deuce Finch in the backfield, although Finch has been prone to turnovers. Andre Williams also had a productive spring. Spaziani has also mentioned Tahj Kimble as a reliable option.

"You never have enough running backs as we've seen the last couple years," Spaziani said recently. "But we've certainly got three of them that we like, and hopefully that will be enough going forward."
