Originally from Austin, Texas, Giannetti graduated from the University of Texas before moving into poker in 2006.

He now lives in Las Vegas and is a full-time poker pro.

Giannetti started cashing regularly in live events around 2006 and has about $500k in cashes including eight at the World Series of Poker.

His best performance in the WSOP Main Event came back in 2006 when he finished 521^st for $22,266.

Giannetti's highest WSOP finish is fourth in a $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha event in 2009 for $66,544.

He also took 35th in the 2006 WPT Championship for $65,000

Giannetti's big move to get in position for the final table came on Day 7 when he twice hit a full house to beat a flush from Brazil's Hilton Laborda.

The two big hands moved him up to the top of the leaderboard with over 16 million in chips and he held on, despite becoming the short stack near the end of Day 8, to make the final nine.

If anyone doubts his resilience, Giannetti has also won a $15,000 prop bet by standing in a pool at Club Med for 12 hours.

From midnight until noon the next day no less.
