Billy Ray Cyrus Visits Wounded Troops At Walter Reed on day true story

Billy Ray Cyrus made a recent guest appearance the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he performed and thanked our wounded warriors for their service. His visit was part of an annual event sponsored by NASCAR, which also included visiting NASCAR executives, team owners, drivers and personalities.

Cyrus is a longtime supporter of U.S. troops. His latest album, "I'm American," was inspired by a 2009 USO tour in which he performed for soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. The album features special guest appearances by Amy Grant and three country artists who are also veterans: Jamey Johnson, Craig Morgan and Darryl Worley. The album also includes a newly re-recorded version of "Some Gave All," the song and title of his debut album, released in 1992, which was dedicated to the men and women of the U.S. military, and earned Cyrus an induction into the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.

Cyrus' current single, "Runway Lights," is the theme song to his new TLC series "Surprise Homecoming" that premiered last month. The show features Cyrus reuniting soldiers with their families after the soldiers had served serving overseas.
