Sarah Jessica Parker says son James Wilkie wants to act on day true story
Naturally, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's son James Wilkie wants to act.
The little guy has expressed interest in following in his parents' footsteps, Parker said, and is hot to start auditioning. But mom isn't releasing 8-year-old fashion fan James into the Hollywood wild just yet.
"I don't want him to do it until after he goes to college," she told Parade. "But part of me thinks maybe it's better if he knows the truth now about how hard it is to be a working actor. I don't know if he grasps what it took to get us here."
"Here" would likely be the couple's New York brownstone that's staffed with daily help for James and his younger twin sisters, Tabitha and Loretta.
While nannies pitch in during work hours, Parker and Broderick insist on putting their brood to bed without assistance.
"We love closing the door and having the only people in the house be our three children and us," Parker said. "It's such a good feeling to know that we're competent and capable and that it's private."
