PiS must rectify statements about PO campaign

Poland's court awarded the first victory in the ongoing election campaign to the ruling Civic Platform (PO), obliging its main rival - the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) to rectify its claims that PO is trying to take credit for successes which were not its own doing.

Last Tuesday PO sued PiS for making accusations that in its information campaign "Poland in Construction" PO attributed to itself previous governments' achievements.

By the court ruling, spokesman for PiS Adam Hofman and chief of PiS election campaign committee Tomasz Poreba are to retrieve their statements on TVN24 news TV broadcaster and pay 10,000 zlotys for charity.
