Styling Standoff: Cadillac XTS Platinum vs. Buick LaCrosse GL Concept on day true story
Both of the two four-doors represent a top-of-the-line interpretation of the cars' inherent design, and that of course includes the familiar Buick LaCrosse. It's all about gentle curves on the LaCrosse, though the waterfall grille does make an impression. Cadillac has gone for a bolder look from the front, with or without the Platinum trim's extra chrome details.
The Cadillac XTS' character line rises above the door handles and doesn't appear as engaging as the Buick LaCrosse's swoop. The XTS further distinguishes itself from the related Buick with a small window behind the rear doors.
From the rear, the Buick wins — in daylight. Both cars have stylized exhaust outlets and a short decklid, but we're fans of the chrome lining the tops of the taillights. At night, the Cadillac's LED lightpipes add a high-end touch.
Inside, the Buick stands out thanks to the bar of wood trim extending from one side of the dash to the other. The Cadillac's cockpit — at least the one shown at the Los Angeles auto show — doesn't feature the Buick's warm colors but does get central air vents mounted above the navigation screen.
While a production version of the Buick LaCrosse GL concept and Cadillac XTS Platinum have yet to hit the streets, which would you rather be seen in? Tell us in the comments section below. Happy Thanksgiving!
