Rumored Spice Girls Reunion Performance at 2012 London Games on day true story
With the 2012 Olympics quickly approaching, rumors are spreading like wildfire. One recent rumor, however, has caught the attention of music fans and sports fans alike. It has been rumors that the Spice Girls, a popular all-girl band from the 1990s will reunite to perform at the 2012 London Games.
This rumor has fans all over buzzing and crossing their fingers.
Scary Spice pushing the idea
Mel B, more famously known as Scary Spice, is believed to be the one behind the idea of a Spice Girls reunion at the 2012 London Games. Mel B told Star Magazine, "never say never," and "I think it's possible," when asked about the possibility of a reunion performance.
Former band mate Geri Halliwell, more famously known as Ginger Spice, revealed her idea of a reunion when she said, "Singing at the games is a great idea and would be an amazing opportunity." Both Mel B and Geri Halliwell seem to be supportive and excited about the prospects of a Spice Girls reunion performance at the 2012 London Games.
Not everyone is on board
Despite Mel B and Geri Halliwell's enthusiasm at the prospects of a reunion performance, not all of the former Spice Girls seem to be on board with the idea. Two of the Spice Girls, Melanie Chisolm, more famously known as Sporty Spice, and Victoria Beckham, more famously known as Posh Spice, don't seem to be in favor of the idea.
Melanie Chisolm released her fifth solo album—"The Sea"—earlier this year and has expressed a desire to work on her solo efforts rather than a Spice Girls reunion. Chisolm was quoted for telling Contact Music, "I don't need that." Chisolm was most likely referring to the stress of a reunion performance.
Victoria Beckham, likely the most famous of the Spice Girls and wife to soccer star David Beckham, doesn't seem to be in favor of the idea either. It isn't hard to understand why the fashion designer, style icon and mother of four may be too busy for a reunion, but fans are hoping Beckham will change her mind about the reunion if her husband is chosen for the UK's Olympic team.
